The Kangaroo Trio will play a couple sets of instrumental groove, hip-hop, and jazz-adjacent sounds. Bandleader Thomas Pridgen is an accomplished drummer across genres and prolific recording artist. He’s drummed with The Coup, Mars Volta, Christian Scott, Thundercat, and most recently Trash Talk & Residente amongst many, many others. His recording credits are similarly vast and varied, but perhaps his latest is also his biggest: you likely have heard his rock and roll drum break in Lizzo & Cardi B.’s smash “Rumors.” His talent is often in the TL: he’s a regular at the neighborhood's Black Cat jazz supper club and frequents the historic Hyde Street Recording Studios. He’ll be bringing his sound to the Tenderloin streets for Phoenix Day 2022 for vibey and loose jam as The Kangaroo trio.

Sunday Streets is a program of the nonprofit Livable City presented in partnership with the SFMTA, San Francisco Department of Public Health, and the City and County of San Francisco. The San Francisco open streets program features an annual season of events that reclaim car-congested streets for community health, transforming them into car-free spaces for all to enjoy.
